Ham and asparagus rolls are a tasty appetizer of vegetables, simple to prepare, but very greedy. They can also be served as an appetizer for 4 people. In this case cut the rolls into slices and serve with a handful of thyme.


  • 250 gR of asparagus
  • 4 slices of San Francesco ham
  • 2 cheese slices
  • Freshly ground black pepper.

Wash the asparagus thoroughly under running water, remove the white part of the stem, peel the outside with a vegetable peeler. Steam cook or boil them in salted water for 18 minutes. Withdraw gently, put them on a cutting board and cut the end of the stem if leathery. Then divide them in two. On a chopping board arrange 4 slices of ham, put on each ½ cheese slices and divide the asparagus stalks, evenly distributing the tips, which are the most valuable. Roll up the rolls and place on a small baking sheet. Sprinkle with freshly ground pepper and pass under the grill to 200 ° C for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese slices will not begin to melt.

Serve hot or warm.
